On Thursday 11 April at Edale Village Hall Moors for the Future Partnership will be holding an event to celebrate the launch of Sarah Lister’s book Mountain Walks Kinder Scout, a guide to walking routes up and around Kinder Scout in the Peak District.

The event will also celebrate the changes that have taken place on Kinder Scout over the 21 years that Moors for the Future Partnership has been working to restore moorland in the area.

At this event, there is an opportunity to accompany Sarah on a Kinder walk. This is followed by a reception at Edale Village Hall, where Sarah will be in conversation with Chris Dean, Moors for the Future Partnership Manager, talking about the area and the rebirth of this once barren landscape.

There will be light refreshments, and you’ll be able to buy copies of Sarah’s book.

This is a great chance to connect with friends and find out more about this amazing part of the Peak District and the work that’s been done to restore it.

The timings are as follows:

12.30pm–2.30pm           Guided walk from Sarah Lister (fully booked)

2.30pm–4.30pm Reception at Village Hall

The walk element of the event is now fully booked, but please feel free to come to the Reception, which promises a fascinating look into what makes the landscape of Kinder so special.
