Author: Alderson et al

Publication Date: February 2019

Summary: A paper published in Science of the Total Environment. Ecosystem services show phased recovery following restoration in eroded peatlands.

Description:

This paper outlines how restoration of bare peat on Peak District blanket bog contributes to improvement of ecosystem services. Trajectories of ecosystem change after conservation work were assessed by measuring key ecosystem responses including: vegetation cover and indicator species; water table, runoff, and water quality. Recommendations are made which could inform moorland management for natural capital and green investment.
