Data Volunteer

Role description: Working alongside our experienced project officer you will learn how to collect, process, analyse and store data generated by our environmental and wildlife monitoring surveys. The role is varied, and using the project’s data and IT protocols you will undertake tasks to ensure that the datasets are accurate and well-managed. There is much scope within this role, from developing basic data input, processing and IT skills, to utilising any existing data analysis skills you may have, to liaising with project officers and assistants to share Community Science data with others.

Skills gained: Transferable communication skills including: ability to work as part of a team; check data for accuracy; follow data management protocols; follow and write clear instructions as required; develop data presentation skills and follow data sharing protocols. IT skills include the use of various data packages and processing software, including MS Office Excel. As well as office based data entry, collation, processing and presentation you will also have the opportunity to become familiar with our scientific methods and data collection working alongside conservation professionals.
