Chapel-en-le-Frith: Combs Moss

This is a circular walk of up to 8 miles in length starting from Chapel-en-le-Frith train station, taking in the village of Combs, Combs Valley and Combs Edge, returning via Castle Naze. During this moderate grade walk where you will hear tales of Dickies Skull!

Terrain: Many stiles need to be crossed and the route consists of many ascents and descents over a variety of conditions.

Walk Guide: Peter Harris - A part-time Ranger with the Peak District National Park at Derbyshire Bridge Briefing Centre, Peter also spends up to 5 days a month helping out with practical tasks for the Peak Park Conservation Volunteers. He has always enjoyed walking and takes a great deal of interest in the countryside. An article by Brian Blessed in a local paper explaining about the Ranger Service inspired him to help put something back.

Travel Information:  Train services to Chapel-en-le-Frith Railway Station are from Manchester and Buxton and depart to these locations most days. The bus service to and from the station has now ceased. If travelling by car there is parking both at the station and also on the approach road.
