A Harvest of Healing - A talk by volunteer historian, Thelma Griffiths

BogFest Yoga

BMC guided walk – the Bleaklow moors
When: 9.50am for a 10am start
Where: By the bus turn-around on Shepley Street, Old Glossop, (Grid Ref: SK 044 947)

Boggy Doodles with Dr Ali Foxon

When: 10am - 1pm
Where: Meet at the Moorland Centre, Edale before walking up onto the moors
Cost: £20 - all materials and equipment included

Activities, stalls, entertainment and fun

Join us and our partners including the RSPB, National Trust, Eastern Moors Partnership, Peak District National Park Authority and Environment Agency for lots of family fun throughout the day. Pollinating the Peak and Kidz Archaeology will also be on hand, providing opportunities to get involved in exciting activities and drop-in sessions. You’ll also be able to climb abroad our brand new, state-of-the-art Bogtastic van to experience the sights, sounds (and even the smells!) of our beloved local moors!

The Moors Above Winscar Reservoir
A guided walk across the moors above Dunford Bridge and Winscar Reservoir with Peak District National Park Authority Rangers.
When: 10.30am – 4.30pm
Where: Broad Hill car park, Dunford Road, Dunford Bridge
Cost: £6.00 per person aged 18 and above. Children aged 17 and below go free on any suitable event

BogFest Trot
A fell race designed by Dark Peak Fell Runners for novice to experienced runners. The 6k route starts and finishes in Edale and is fully marshalled with some navigational skills required for those racing off in the front!
When: 11am
Where: Edale, follow signs to car park and race start point
Registration on the day: 200 runners maximum

 

Throughout BogFest

Photography exhibition
Throughout BogFest, be sure to visit the Penny Pot Café to enjoy a free special showcase of locally inspired photographs!
When: Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September during café opening times
Where: Penny Pot Café on Station Approach in Edale

South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival 2017
Pick up hill skills training; enjoy guided walks on a range of subjects including history and poetry; relish in the great outdoors, at the South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival, taking place throughout September. There are a number of events during BogFest weekend, at places across the South Pennines including Heptonstall, Littleborough, Todmorden, Saddleworth and Colne.
When: Saturday 9th to Sunday 24th September
Where: Various locations across the South Pennines
Cost: Vary depending on activity (some free)
