Last week the CBBC Newsround team, Peak District National Park Authority Chief Executive Jim Dixon and local MP Angela Smith visited Black Hill to mark the start of our innovative sphagnum reintroduction programme.

Newsround presenter Leah Gooding flew over the area where the work will take place by helicopter, and interviewed Moors for the Future Programme Manager Chris Dean at the summit of Black Hill. She watched the Sphagnum beads being flown in and got to try out spreading for herself. The item will be broadcast some time this week.

Peak District National Park Chief Executive Jim Dixon and Angela Smith, MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge also came along to look at the work.

The moss beads, each containing around 7 miniature plants, are scattered over the moors by hand. By Friday we had spread 6 million beads, which will yield up to 42 million plants.
