Digitised waylines

• In 2004 Moors for the Future commissioned a study to digitise all waylines on S3 moorland areas from aerial photography.
  
• Waylines were classified as either trampled paths, eroded paths, or vehicle tracks and given a 1-5 certainty weighting.
  
• Digitisation was at a scale of approx 1:1500.
  In total over 2000km of waylines were identified and recorded. This is in addition to 730km of Public Rights of Ways.
