Indicitive output of Footpath Condition Survey

• In 2005 Moors for the Future commenced a studt to field survey the condition of all paths on the S3 moorlands of the Peak District, bith PRoWs and non-PRoWs.

• A number of variables were recorded for each 50m section of path. These variables were then used to calculate a numerical score representing the condition of the section.

• Approximately 500km of path have been surveyed to date.

• The numerical condition score of each path section will enable it to be assigned a path condition classification. The end product will be a colour coded map illustrating the condition of the path network.
