Architecture Week 2007

As part of this event (15-24 June 2007), we produced two podcasts, one for each of our new buildings; The Moorland Centre in Edale and the Moorland Discovery Centre, near Sheffield. The podcasts contain interviews with the people involved in their conception, design and construction and reveal more than meets the eye........

Moorland Centre Moorland Discovery Centre
This 10 minute podcast reveals how and why this building was built and its benefits to moorland conservation. This 20 minute podcast provides interviews with seven people involved with the construction of the centre opened in 2007.

Using New Media to Explore the National Park

Enhanced Podcast

Discover how Peak Experience and Moors for the Future have been mobile phone technology, iPods and the internet to tell the story of the Peak District.

This presentation was delivered to National Park staff on Monday 4th January 2008.

To take full advantage of all the features in the podcast you will need to view it in ‘itunes’ (a free music player download). When you have installed itunes, you will need to show the ‘album artwork’ to take advantage of the enhanced features i.e. the images. Do this by looking at the bottom left hand corner of the itunes window and selecting the fourth icon from the left (the one with the triangle pointing downwards in the square).

Select the ‘New Media in the PD’ file and press play. To enlarge the image, click on it and expand the new window in the bottom right corner. Enjoy!

Listening/Download instructions

Right click on the 'download the podcast' icon and choose 'save target as...'. Save the file onto your computer and upload it to your MP3 player, mobile phone, Pocket PC etc.

Alternatively you can simply click on the icon and listen to it on your computer (nb. download times will be dependent on your internet connection and it is recommended only broadband users download it.)

Audio Trails

Moors for the Future also produce their own 'Audio Trails' which are simply audio tours of the moors that can be downloaded directly onto your MP3 player, iPod, mobile phone or PDA. Thirteen are currently free to download.
