Grindleford Audio Trail

Follow the ghost of a river as your tour takes you back millions of years to see how the geology of this area (and the Peak District) was laid down to give us the landscape we see today. The audio trail was produced in conjunction with Grindleford Youth Club.

Audio Trail Style: Music inspired by the sounds of the trail, interspersed with interviews.

Grade: Moderate

Terrain: A couple of steep ascents and rocky descent on return to start. Two stiles to cross.

GPS Waypoints

The grid references are listed on the right . However, if you have a Global Positioning System (GPS) reciever, you can download the waypoints, and transfer them from your PC via Easy GPS (free software download).

The waypoints are in the generic GPX format. Simply right click the link and select 'save target as..' from the options and then open them in 'Easy GPS' where you can upload them onto your GPS.

The start of this audio trail is served by a train station which has regular services from Manchester and Sheffield.
