The Moorland Discovery Centre is 1 mile from Grindleford station which has regular trains from Sheffield. Visits can start and finish at the train station with prior arrangement.

 

Regular buses run from Sheffield and the surrounding area to Fox House pub opposite the Longshaw Estate. The 240 from Sheffield – Bakewell; the 272 Sheffield – Castleton and the TM Travel 65 Sheffield – Buxton all pass the Longshaw estate.

 

The Moorland Discovery Centre is 7½ miles from Sheffield, on the junction between the A 6187 (Ringinglow Road) and the A625 to Hathersage. The main car park is 200yds up the A625 towards Bakewell.

 

Follow the same road directions. Parking for coaches at the estate can be difficult. If you are arriving in a large coach we would ask that you drop off at the start of the main Estate entrance off the B6521. Coaches can park at Surprise view car park 5min away and return to pick up at the end of the day
